With a career spanning 45 years, Garland attained international stardom as an actress, as a recording artist, and on the concert stage. During her career Judy starred in 30 TV shows, gathering a total of 10 Emmy Award nominations. Judy fulfilled more than 1,100 theater, nightclub, and concert performances in 18 years from 1951-1969, recorded nearly 100 singles and over 24 record albums.

FUN FACTS

Judy did NOT die in her London home from an accidental, incautious overdose of prescription medications, but rather the cumulative effects of a life long addiction. In fact the autopsy found no drug residue in her stomach at the time of death.

After remaining in a temporary storage area at Ferncliff Cemetery for one year, Frank Sinatra paid for Judy’s vault in the mausoleum after the family was unable to raise the funds to purchase one themselves.

Oh, almost forgot – Judy Garland, like Steve Allen and Elvis Presley, died on the toilet.

As you enter the cemetery gates take a hard right and then a left and park at the next intersection. The exterior of the new Judy Garland Pavilion is well marked and her crypt is directly in front of you as you walk through the entrance.
