John Heard engaging, intelligent character actor in American film, television and theatre from the mid-1970s onwards. With well over 200 films and TV appearances he received two Obie Awards and an Emmy nomination for his work on the Sopranos. But, in his own words, John went from being "a young leading man to being just kind of a hack actor" with his one regret that he didn't go after bigger parts. Nonetheless, we still have memories of John opposite Tom Hanks in Big, his role in Home Alone and, of course, his role as George in the movie that combines the best of sharks and tornadoes - Sharknado!
Fun Fact
The Heard House, now the Ipswich Museum, was the Heard family home from 1795 to 1936. Descendants of Heard family, including John Heard until his death, have continued to live and support the community of Ipswich and it’s rich history.
