Adolph Caesar was an American actor, theatre director, dancer, and choreographer. He was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for his supporting role in the film A Soldier's Story (1984). He also starred in the films The Color Purple (1985) and The Hitter (1979). Caesar was also known for his iconic voice and provided dramatic and chilling narration for classic movie trailers such as The Dawn of the Dead and A Nightmare on Elm Street. At age 52 he finally felt his career was taking off when he died on the second day of filming on the set of Tough Guys of a heart attack.
