With over 70 feature films and 1,600 recorded songs and countless television appearances, Bing Crosby was the first multimedia star in America. From 1930 through the mid-50s he was the leader in record sales, radio ratings and motion picture gross box office receipts and was still working up until his sudden death after a round of golf.

Fun Facts

Bing Crosby was co-owner of the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team from 1946 to 1977. He was also an early investor in the California electronics firm Ampex (that developed taping capabilities in Hollywood) and owned several television stations.
