Bernard Kroger
Fun Fact
Negotiations for the sale of Bernard Kroger’s entire stockholdings in the Kroger Grocery & Baking Co. began near the end of 1927, and resulted in a sale by him of his stockholdings for a cash consideration of $24,397,000. This amount was received in January of 1928. Mr. Kroger sold his stock because, as he said, “the price offered was so much in excess of what I considered its real value that I could not afford to refuse it.”
Today the total capitalization of Kroger’s is worth north of $85 billion.
