Dolly said she was to present the “Male Country Artist of The Year” and read that the award goes to Charlie Pride. She said she kissed Mr. Pride of the cheek, and after the show, Charlie Rich came over to her and said, “How could a beautiful woman like you kiss a n****r on national TV?”

When you enter the cemetery off Poplar Avenue you will literally drive all the way to the very back of the cemetery. Charlie Rich’s grave is in the center of the Fairlawn Section about 9 rows from the road in the very back of the property. Last time I was there, there was a wooden bench and a tree one row from his grave.
