Heather O’Rourke was the terrified youngster sucked into a spectral vacuum by supernatural spirits in the “Poltergeist” films and was featured in such television shows as Happy Days, Webster and Still the Beaver. She played the angelic Carol Ann Freeling in all three Poltergeist movies fondly remembered for her catch phrase, "They're baaaack." Heather had just completed filming on Poltergeist III when she complained of abdominal pain, was rushed to the hospital on died on the operating table from septic shock caused by intestinal stenosis.

Fun Fact

Heather O’Rourke bet out dozens of young girls including Drew Barrymore for the role of Carol Ann Freeling in the Poltergeist movies. But don’t feel bad for Drew – she ended up starring in the movie E.T.
